 Where Do I Install Insulation?

Insulation Placement DiagramThe most common locations for insulation are attics and exterior walls. However, to gain the maximum impact from your insulation, it should also be installed in ceilings with unheated spaces above, below living spaces, along foundations walls as well as interior walls for improved sound control. Laundry rooms are also a good place for cellulose insulation as it can minimize the transmission of sounds between rooms.

NOTE:  According to Energy Star Guidelines, installation of fiberglass insulation has several different grades depending upon the size of voids and gaps in the wall.  Cellulose Insulation does not have a grading system.
